Training to Run!
bf Genius and I have decided to set a goal. We are going to sign up and train for a 5k. I know, I know...that's only 3.1 miles, so why is training really necessary? It's necessary for me. Over the years, I have had surgery on both knees, gained and lost and gained back a ton of weight. Well, not literally a ton, but a lot. I am in the process of losing again and haven't run more than a few feet in at least 7 years. I might not be able to run the whole 3.1 miles, but I will finish. :)
So, which 5k, you ask? I have no idea. I need something March or later. Any ideas? If you know of a good one within a reasonable distance from Ruston, LA, let me know.

Good for you! You should checkmout John Bingham and "waddle on" . It is great encouragement ...he states on web site "the miracle isn't that I finished ? The miracle is that I had the courage to start"
ReplyDeleteI had a lot of good laughs reading some of the comments .
Have fun and good luck!
I didn't know you lived in Ruston! My grandmother's in Farmerville, and my aunt and uncle just moved from there down the road to Ruston. I don't know that I've heard of any legendary 5Ks in the area, but I'd definitely recommend getting it out of the way before May or so!
ReplyDeleteWay to go! I use Hal Higdon training guidelines. I haven't really run in the last 6 months, but did my first 5k of the year a couple of weeks ago. Time for me to get over this cold and start training again. And always remember: Forward is a pace!
